Thanks to "brilliant" (The Film Daily) performances, The Fugitive Kind "sets one's senses to throbbing" (The New York Times). Valentine "Snakeskin" Xavier (Brando) is a handsome drifter with a guitar and a past. Taking a job as a store clerk in Two Rivers, Mississippi, his strong and silent demeanor attracts not only the local party girl (Woodward), but also the shopkeeper's exotic wife (Magnani). Soon, this explosive love triangle will ignite a powder keg of fury that could rock this small town to its very core.

Marlon Brando gave an equally stunning performance to his in Streetcar while playing a completely different character. The story is such a powerful combination of love and tragedy. What I always love about Williams' work is that it is still as relevant and flawless as it was at its inception.
While the characters portrayed by Joanne Woodward and Anna Magnani tended to grate on me, the overall story is decent and the film proves that no one can deliver a line quite like Brando.
Type of story Tenessee Williams is known for. TFK is pretty dark and perplexing. Almost too much. Focuses mostly on the characters telling stories and not so much taking place.

Just didn't find this one that interesting.

Great Acting From Marlon Brando Makes Me Want To Search Out More Of His Films. He Really Can Get Emotions Across From Anger & Outrage One Moment, Caring & Compassionate The Next. A Good Film For Movies Lovers Of The Golden Age Of Hollywood.
This overheated Southern potboiler gets good mileage from Brando, Woodward, and Magnani, but Tennessee Williams' screenplay (based upon his play) is overly melodramatic and unfocused.
Another dark, sick and wonderful screenplay by Tennessee Williams. Marlon goes out in a most gruesome way... awesome.
This is great movie...I can see why old timers complain they don't make 'em like they used to...They don't. What a great role for Joanne Woodward to play the town nutcase in what is revealed to be a really disfunctional small town...
Brando's best role as far as I am concerned and one of the most wickedly powerful films ever made.
Ma premiere emotion cine... coup de foudre pour Brando... Drame beau sombre, Magnani si belle... Photo si belle
