The film itself seemed a 2nd edit, as many scenes were not important, or several are just too long, nevertheless, the cast are strong and the film is rewarding.

Marlon Brando is excellent, the rest of the cast is kinda blah. I can't get into Jane Fonda at all. The direction is somewhat lackluster as well, but the slow burn and build-up of the movie is so intense that it merits a good rating.
Interesante pelÃcula dónde los conflictos de un pequeño poblado de Texas se contraponen con el honor de un sheriff..Sólida actuación de Marlon Brando y bella como siempre Jane Fonda...

From the big marquee stars like Marlon Brando, Robert Redford and Jane Fonda, through a who's who of first class character actors ranging from Miriam Hopkins to Janice Rule, Angie Dickinson and beyond, we get a feast of bigotry and debauchery, the likes of which was usually reserved for Sodom and Gommorrah! The Chase is overblown from start to finish, but it's like a car crash you just can't turn away from, and while subtlety is definitely not the film's forte, it does offer valuable lessons about human nature which are as relevant today as they were in the late 1960s when this tale is set. Interestingly, Robert Redford playing the character almost everyone's chasing... an escaped convict who is also implicted in a murder, comes across as one of the most moral and upright citizens of this crazy Texas town.
I was really entertained the whole way through. Something about the complexity of the narrative and the characters just hit that spot that makes the dog's leg start twitching for me. Ending was a little weak but I saw that coming, I really don't know... (read more) I was really entertained the whole way through. This was a great movie with great peformances by Brando, and young version of Jane Fonda and Robert Redford
John Barry´s music is great. Marlon Brando as a police officer gets my points.
Tres bon film. Les Américains n' amenent pas le meme point de vue sur l' époque que les francais. Un peu caricatural et beaucoup péjoratif. Bons acteurs.

What a great cast; Brando, Redford, E.G. Marshal, James Fox, Jane Fonda, Robert Duvaall, and Angie Dickenson. The film is a bit heavy-handed, but it serves as an indictment of small-town prejudices, racism, and class conflicts which still exist today.

Marlon Brando får bank. Robert Redford gjømme seg. Intriger. Marlon Brando gir bank. Indirekte samenheng mellom samtlige nevnte setningar.
