one of the best films ive seen in recent memory. beautifully shot and quirky with a dash of black humor. loved every minute of this film.
Has Besson put anything nearly as good as this recently??? You be the judge! I, for one, doubt it.
I love the character of Leon. Hiis whole backstory of how he became what he was is interesting. Oldman is awesome, Portman is adorable. Not much else to say.
This is incredible film, Natalie Portman day view. Gary Oldman and Jean Reno. This is a Masterpiece. There will never be another film like this for a long time. Only then this film would be respectedfor its great work.
Starts off quite excellent, but after the first half it really doesn't go anywhere until the end, which doesn't quite make up for it. Add in some uncomfortable comic relief, and there you go. Add in some uncomfortable comic relief, and there you go. That's not to say the film is bad in anyway. It is well filmed, well acted, and quite entertaining. Gary Oldman's performance is a standout, as his character is charismatic and insane, as well as being of a respectable profession. His scenes steal the show. It's a fine film, but by no means brilliant.

It is a credit to a genre that has be plagued with mindless action films with underdeveloped characters and little artistic merit for over ten years. It's tight, stylish visual style aside, what really makes The Professional an exceptional action movie is it's fascinating characters. Great performances all round.

Critic Reviews
Always at the back of my mind was the troubled thought that there was something wrong about placing a 12-year-old character in the middle of this action.full review
