(read more) Ron Burgundy is the top-rated anchorman in San Diego in the 1970s. When feminism marches into the newsroom in the form of ambitious newswoman Veronica Corningstone, Ron is willing to play along at first--as long as Veronica stays in her place, covering cat fashion shows, cooking, and other "female" interests. But when Veronica refuses to settle for being eye candy and steps behind the news desk, it's more than a battle between two perfectly coiffed anchor-persons--it's war.

Umm it was okay I guess not deserving of the fanfare it received or the many many recreated attempts by will farrell...
One of the Best movies Will Ferrell has ever done. =} I can watch this movie over and over and over again. =}
The first Will Ferrell movie I actually liked, up until the terrible ending.
The satire of news and sexism in the late 70s is a little weak, but this movie is probably one of the most quotable of the past ten years. Great performances all around. "I have many leatherbound books. . ."
Will Ferrell's best work imo..
Anyone who fails to raise a smile at this needs a sense of humour transplant!
Critic Reviews
It has a pleasing, noodly elasticity about it -- the picture knows what its limits are and proceeds to boogie unself-consciously far outside them.full review
While the film is sporadically funny, it was done much better on the small screen, decades ago.full review
While malapropisms and anachronisms do have their places in cinematic comedy, it's very tough to make them the foundation for a story.full review
It is not as maniacally uninhibited as Old School or as dementedly lovable as Elf, but its cheerful dumbness is hard to resist.full review
That he can make his anchorman chauvinistic, deluded and ridiculous but still manage to give him some humanity is testimony to Ferrell's comic talents.full review
You're not laughing at anchormen. You're laughing at formula movie rituals blown sky-high.full review
Funny in a roly-poly, shapeless way. Sort of like Ferrell's gut.full review
It's difficult to resist a hero who believes that the name San Diego, derived from German, means "whale's vagina."full review
