dull and pretty stupid! and wheres the skeletor cheerleader from the cover?... next!....
A relatively terrible horror movie with a very young George Clooney. Good luck making it all the way through. It's nothing special.

There's a lot less cheese here than one would suspect and since that is what most people seem to expect from these films, that is bad news for this tepid late entry in the slasher cycle. Return to Horror High takes itself almost deathly serious at times, but still can't rummage up a few measly scares or sequences of suspense. Just wait for the super weird ending. You can do much better things with your time than waste it on this dull spoof. There's only a few fun moments and it's not worth it to sit through the whole movie. Skip it, unless you're a masochist.

So of course, the killer has to return and start killing again. It started out okay, still cheesy but at least making fun of itself, but about half way through it really got bad, probalby when they were trying to find out who the killer is. George Clooney is young and donning a mullet, but unfortunately, he's the first to die, so he's not in it long. But kudos to the movie for managing to put in a sex scene equipped with a very 80s love song right in the middle of the two heroes trying to find out who the killer is. It's like "oh my god, the killer's right outside, but first, let's have sex, and don't forget to put on Tears for Fears." Oh, and there is a hilarious line in the movie, they're shooting a scene where the actress is getting raped, and the director wants her to show her breasts, so she gets mad that women always have to get naked: "Well, would you care to walk around in the scene with your schlong hanging out? Only in your case, darling, it would be a *schlort*."
This movie was just stupid. The movie made no sense at all. I mean when it was finally over you sit there thinking..."what?" Not scary, not entertaining. That is all.

i havent seen it done as much as this movie did it, and i liked it
A young George Clooney was lucky to be the first to die in this slasher film. Marsha Brady as a police office had a few funny moments but otherwise this was just a bad movie.
At its core, Horror High has a workable story and as a slasher-comedy was clearly a predecessor to Scream.

However, its execution (pun intended) is handled terribly in all departments, with a script that muddles itself with too many pointless twists; actors who should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves and an editor who fell asleep at the wheel.
If you're a slasher completist then watch this to see the downfall of the genre's golden age. If you're a die-hard George Clooney fan, watch the first 20 minutes (even in his second-ever movie appearance he acts the pants off the rest of the cast). Otherwise, steer clear.
An alright horror/comedy movie. It was cool how they were making a film in the film, and the twist at the end was pretty good.
