Something like the Pulp Fiction stuff : So famous, everybody says its remarkable...But its nothing but a shit... It has a good message ok but what else? We know all about this shit, hear something like that everyday...
Excelente film de Danny Boyle....muestra una realidad dura pero honesta....me toco verla en una muestra de cine y se tuvieron que agregar funciones....chingona!!!
Not for everyone. Scene after shocking scene shows drugs, blood and other kinds of awful messes. The story moves at a fast and entertaining pace.
This is an excellent movie, who can doubt that? There might be people in the world who resolutely mean to try heroin after watching Trainspotting, but if so, they might deserve their future. There might be people in the world who resolutely mean to try heroin after watching Trainspotting, but if so, they might deserve their future. But quite apart from what I assume is its honesty, the movie's quirkiness makes it no less amusing than devastating. If the novel has that quality, it seems to have found its way to the screen.
magnificent young talent
witty script
wicked soundtrack
mix well, heat for 5 minutes, and proceed directly to injection of the sheer brilliance

Some people really love this movie. I liked it, but it is simply so dark and miserable. Great performances, and sometimes funny, but not quite up my ally.
Good movie, not as amazing as it's been hailed, but a good movie nonetheless.
Now I watched this film last night with the knowledge that being English I must love it and think it is a fantastic example of British cinema, well it isn't.

Don't get me wrong it isn't a bad movie, certainly the director Danny Boyle's talent is as clear to see as his future Oscar success, the problem is your just not made to care about the characters enough.
I understand the premise of the movie, Trainspotting in stomach churning detail profiles the lives of a group of Scottish druggies in a real gritty way.
Well the reality is Trainspotting actually with the loosest of narratives feels like a test case for the BBFC and essentially pushes the envelop for the sake of pushing the envelope with little artistic justification.
For example at one point it becomes clear that a character contracts HIV, to be honest after the amount of extreme scenes that came before I really didn't care as I had no link to the characters.
In reference to the performances certainly Ewan Mcgregor is the best thing in the movie and one can clearly see the fact he would go onto bigger success in Hollywood.
Robert Carlyle on the other hand plays his role in a very one dimensional almost in a annoyingly irrelevant way and from watching Trainspotting no one would have guessed his future success.
In summary I am aware that I might just not be getting Trainspotting, I don't (as I have said in other reviews) get the male bonding thing so maybe I'm overlooking a integral element of the movie.
But the fact is I watched Trainspotting last night because I was bored and didn't want to go to bed and I would recommend maybe if your in a similar situation, otherwise I would watch something else.
Critic Reviews
THE experience of watching Trainspotting -- the electric, nasty and slick descent into the milieu of young Scottish junkies -- is a little like speeding through the digestive tract of some voracious beast.full review
Trainspotting is a singular sensation, a visionary knockout spiked with insight, wild invention and outrageous wit.full review

This is not dour social realism. It's a shot- from-a-cannon youth movie, with likable young people sticking needles in their arms in working-class Edinburgh.full review
