My first Bollywood experience. This movie made me fall in love with Bollywood, Aishwayra Rai's charm and presence, and the music! Ah, the music!
I thought that the storyline was amazing but the acting was overly dramatic at times and the scene right before the ending was so dismissive after all of that searching. The music was amazing as well.

The sound editing was kind of sketchy, though, especially the sounds of the men "fighting".
Magical film is every aspect. This is also the only film to feature Salman Khan opposite Aishwarya Rai in pivotal roles. Remember I said pivotal, so Hum Tumara Hain Sanam do not count.
Bhansali is a magical director with great vision.

A bit too long, and some people might want to fast forward through the dream/song parts, plus its a bit of a pain to have to read subtitles, but worth it. I really liked how they didn't split up the marriage in the end, and there are some great quotes that could be taken from this movie about love if someone took the time to write them down. I'm surprised I didn't cry, but I'm glad about how the whole thing ended.

I was enjoying the corny stuff, the wild dancing and bright colors, then suddenly, I found a beautiful tear jerker love story thrown in there. This was a wonderful movie!! It had subtitles, which were not always accurate I don't think, and it was distracting to have to read instead of paying attention to the picture. The song lyrics were extremely cheesy and weird, but all in all, it was a lot of fun!

The first 2/3 has your typical Bollywood elements: song and dance, comedy, family drama, romance, sacrifice. Then the story moves to what is supposed to be Italy, but blatantly isn't. Why they did this, I have no idea. The acting by Salman Khan, Helen and the supporting cast is really very poor. Only Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai's acting holds up against the silliness happening all around. Thank God for the end when it came, but what a shame, as the rest of the film before 'Italy' was impressive, especially the use of music, not just in the dance numbers. Salman Khan needs to stop being a buffoon so often, and practise his emotional acting.
