One of my favorite performances Christian Bale has ever given. Jeremy Thomas's best work by far.
Loved this film. Benzali's character is simply loathsome. Brilliant performance.

If anything lets me not give it full 5 stars is for the slighlty rushed ending apart from that i wouldn't change a thing.

Brilliant acting by Christina Bale, but the plot really didn't do anything for me. It was too long and slow that I actually had to turn it off because I was falling asleep.
Why is this movie so underrated? I am a huge Christian Bale fan, in fact he's my favorite actor, and I've seen more than half of his movies, but I think this is his best performance. [It] refuses to reduce its story to simple terms, and the visible story seems like a manifestation of dark and secret undercurrents. Even the ending, which some will no doubt consider routine revenge, has a certain subterranean irony.full review
