this was definitely a chick flick all the way, but it still had some charming indie qualities to it. Catherine Keener in particular was terrific as usual, and carries much of the weaker parts of the film.

The soundtrack is good, too (including many Billy Bragg songs). I'm thrilled to see that Nicole, Catherine, and Kevin are collaborating on another project as I type this.

Holofcener makes some nice observations, but many scenes are so pat and obvious that the characters come off as obnoxious and whiny. On par with 'Reality Bites.'

One of my favourite chick flicks even though I don't really consider it a chick flick. Nicole Holefcener is always smart, funny, relatable and honest. She hasn't let me down yet.

Eh. I could go without seeing it again. I didn't think there was much substance to the movie, although it did hold my attention. My favorite part of it was Amelia and Andrew's relationship.
