Lee planned an ambitious expression of his fighting philosophy, and his story culminates in the rigorous challenge of the "Game of Death," in which combatants take on successively greater and greater masters as they fight their way to the top of a tower. Only a few fight scenes were completed, and the released film is about a martial arts movie star who takes on a syndicate of drug dealers. Lee faces down the towering Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in an impressive battle, one of the only surviving scenes from Lee's original shoot, while outtakes from his battle with Chuck Norris in Return of the Dragon are used along with real-life footage from Lee's funeral. The rest of the film is a mishmash of car chases and clumsily edited fights, complete with awkward inserts of Lee's face. His double remains hidden behind a pair of dark glasses or a motorcycle helmet throughout, and he abruptly changes into a yellow jumpsuit for no reason other than to match Lee's costume in the final scene. --Sean Axmaker

At one point they even cover the double's face with an image of Bruce Lee's face overlaid on top - ridiculous! It sticks out and just brings down the whole film. Had the real Bruce Lee lived to finish this film, the outcome would have been much different. The enemies seemed to difficult for a person filling in as Lee's double, and had it actually been him, they would have had to step up the martial arts a bit to match Bruce Lee's skill.
The real treat of this film is that an hour and twenty minutes into it, is a series of final bouts, where Bruce Lee is actually the one fighting, so that this one is not a complete loss. The few minutes of footage with the real Bruce Lee is much better than the rest of the film entirely.
What's worse after the fact they continued the film after the death of the star, is that a sequel was made, which claims to star Bruce Lee.
Obviously the producers are scrappy to make a good movie and failed. Not actually a Bruce Lee movie and the fight scenes are not nearly as good because of it. And also just a stupid plot line for a martial arts movie.
Overall, this is Lee's best film, as far as how well the action scenes and especially dramatic moments are concerned.
the fake Bruce Lee was killing me. All his fight scenes were so rehearsed looking. The unnecessary voice-overs really brought the quality down, but the climax and Bruce's coolness sort of made up for it...but not really...Thank goodness for DVD and... 2 étoiles pour le film en général vu que Bruce est presque pas là, mais 5 étoiles pour la scène finale!!!
Bruce Lee's final movie is skimpy on just about...well everything. Lee didn't shoot most of the actual movie, but thankfully he did shoot the fight scenes.
This is really my favorite of all Bruce Lee films, but I only like the ending of it (the lost footage version) because the rest of the film is fake Bruce Lee garbage.
this film really shouldn't be billed as a bruce lee movie as he's only actually in it for about 10 mins at the end and the rest is utter tosh. that 10 mins is pretty awesome though so the 3 stars are just for that.
