Unable to accept the doctor's diagnosis that her daughter should be permanently institutionalized for psychiatric care, Rose flees with her child, heading for the abandoned town in search of answers -- and ignoring the protests of her husband. It's soon clear this place is unlike anywhere she's ever been. It's smothered by fog, inhabited by a variety of strange beings and periodically overcome by a living "darkness" that literally transforms everything it touches. As Rose begins to learn the history of the strange town, she realizes that her daughter is just a pawn in a larger game.

Bien expresada la lucha de una madre por salvar a su hija. Nadie sabe hasta donde puede llevar la desesperacion. Es lo unico q rescato de la historia, lo demas totalmente olvidable...
some quite scary bits in places. follows the game a little too closely though
the story in the game is better than in the movie, still worth checking out though
this movie is not so good but it scared me alot and in someparts, I had hide my face away. D: :P
it is a good movie. it has alot of eerie parts. great graphics, and a great soundtrack. they're were parts were i was like WTF???? because it was so stupid but overall a chilling good move
It nails the games visuals and incomprehensible plot and as a result the film isn't great.
Critic Reviews
Despite its often-overwhelming nonsensicality, there's ultimately something irresistibly fiendish about Silent Hill.full review
Not only can I not describe the plot of this movie, but I have a feeling the last scene reverses half of what I thought I knew (or didn't know).full review
