I wonder how many drug lords would go out of business if marijuana became legal in the US. Interesting.
A scathing critique of America's anti-narcotics campaign and analysis of human nature... A complex tale of people at their worst, finest, and most human.

Interesting film from Soderbergh...! Explores the intricacies of drug-trafficking from different view-points..
This film is rough. It really makes me feel sad after watching it. Steven Soderbergh really puts his all into this film, it's powerful, moving and wonderfully acted. Everyone should give this a chance.

It does an effective job of showing the political and emotional aspect of the war on drugs, including the corruption of various governmental agencies. It also features solid plotlines with good acting from pretty much everyone involved. The direction is interesting and unique, but it failed to truly impact me emotionally. It's technically fantastic, but a little dry emotionally.
very well made, great acting, great cinematography. created some great intensity but remained realistic. in the end very satisfying. loved the colors too.
I didn't get all the hype. Maybe I need to rewatch it now that I'm not in high school.

Soderbergh creates three separate stories but not all feel completely developed. I was more interested with the Judgeâs story then the Mexico story but just as youâre getting into it, it jumps somewhere else. The plot was hard to follow at points and while youâre trying to figure out what happened, youâve moved on to another story. The performances save the movie. It is a great ensemble cast and everyone holds their own. The choice in lighting for the different locations was also a good move by adding some symbolism to the multiple stories. But over all Iâd say Crash is a more interesting film with a crisper and concrete story. I guess thatâs why it won Best Picture and Traffic didnât.
Critic Reviews
A real cannonball, a hardass drama about the drug trade that Steven Soderbergh directs like a thriller -- it comes out blazing.full review
A huge canvas of a movie that nonetheless brings the various facets of drug trafficking -- and drug-taking -- down to human scale.
The movie is powerful precisely because it doesn't preach.full review
