He is assigned to kidnap Brian, the psychologically challenged younger brother of a powerful federal prosecutor, in order to save his mobster boss from incarceration. Holed-up in his one-bedroom apartment with his kidnap victim Brian, Gigli starts to realize that what he thought would be a routine assignment has become a daunting and unwieldy task. Ricki, a beautiful, independent-minded female gangster, is sent to assist Gigli with the kidnapping--as his boss doesn't have faith that Gigli can carry out the job on his own. But when his feelings for the elusive Ricki begin to grow, and he becomes genuinely concerned for the vulnerable Brian, tough guy Gigli begins to trade in his tough exterior, for a more human, sensitive one--and considering his profession, that could be quite a dangerous path to follow.

I honestly don't know why I didn't walk out of this movie sooner than I did. Maybe I was thinking it couldn't be as bad as people were saying. Boy, was I wrong.

I never thought Lopez was a good actress anyway but this movie proves that!! All Affleck do is yell and even that seems contrived and terrible. I can't even watch this in order to laugh at how awful it is, it just isn't worth the migraine and the time off of my life
The part about why women are better than men is one of the funniest scenes ever.
This movie is treated unfairly I'd say. It's not horrible by any means but it's definitely not good. I would say that a horrible movie is one that is poorly made AND boring. I would say that a horrible movie is one that is poorly made AND boring. This one is poorly made but not boring. The performances are awful including weird short roles from Christopher Walken and Al Pacino. The story makes no sense and the movie can't decide whether it wants to be a comedy, romance, or drama. I'm giving this 2 stars because it's occasionally funny.

The stars display zip chemistry, but seem to find themselves adorable. They're so taken with each other they don't need an audience.full review
Rarely has a movie that doesn't star Madonna achieved such a skin-crawling mixture of deluded preening and bungled humour.full review
I wonder what would happen if you sweated 15 minutes out of this movie. Maybe it would work. The materials are there.full review
What emerges is desperate -- and occasionally offensive -- salaciousness merged with corny, predictable jokes.full review
