At first this movie feels like it's going to be a courtroom drama but it becomes much more. I'm a huge fan of Sean Connery and his acting is always top class but I also thought Laurence Fishburne did a great job with a tough character and Ed Harris -wow- I thought I recognised the actress playing Sean Connery's daughter and I was right, it's Scarlett Johansson looking very young indeed.
Great Thriller, Great twists.
A movie that's so clunky, formulaic and slow to warm up, it's hard not to wonder why it was made, and the contrived plot twists seem so perfuctory that it's off-putting.
Thrilling enough although Sean Connery comes across as a bumbling idiot by the film's end.
haha scarlett johansson is in this... ed harris the the one who really took the spotlight.
Cheap knock-off of the feel of Silence of the Lambs...but with decent actors. Worth a watch.
A fun thriller. You can tell everyone involved had a good time with this one about a man of death row for a murder he claims he did not commit. Cause of old demons a law professors wife guilts him into helping this man. Great movie with a nice twist.
The actors do the best with what they're given but the big twist in the end is wholly unbelievable.
I love Lawrence Fishburne in this movie. Very underrated film that flew under the radar. Lots of twists along the way to keep you guessing. The mandatory 'crocodile feast' of the dead body at the end was actually kind of funny.

Interesting to see Scarlett Johansson so young in a movie!!
Really, really good movie. Kept my interest the entire way through. Definitely has some interesting twists and turns. Loved it.
Critic Reviews
In Connery it has a hero who is inescapably appealing.full review
There is no psychological depth, no real motivation, no human values to weigh, just characters jerked here and there like puppets in an arbitrary plot.full review
