Actually it's a very-very simple movie.I really enjoy the thrill but i guess the ending is too simple
tries to be suspensful but I think it failed. it's very cliched in every aspect

I think what makes it so scary is the lighting - the shadows in this are spectacular. There's always something lurking in the corner...or sometimes behind a closed window (that shot alone was downright freaky). Anyway, as far as plot and acting, it was pretty good - while the girl wasn't the stupidest horror movie chick, she definitely wasn't the smartest either. Some other things that I found amazing were the phone calls (dude, the things the guy said were so scary!) and how they never revealed who the killer was exactly. Left room for interpretation, and that's always fun in a horror movie. Anyhow, some good suspense, a few good scares, I didn't regret watching it.

Well, after you do, you can consider spending the next hour and a half watching this simple suspense film. That's right, don't expect a lot of bloody horror or an involved conflict, filled with descriptive characters and impressive visuals. This time, "When a Stranger Calls" decides to approuch the world of realism. What's suspensful here is that its conflict is very common and can happen anywhere, making you more adapt to the film's events, and understand on how real it is. The movie's flow, in addition, is also in realism, moving casually along with its characters, who's behavior works plausibly with the situations they find themselves in. In contrast however, a simple story is going to have simple results. Within this realism, nothing seems to add to your understanding on who these characters are, and by the time the climax arrives, you're left wondering if what is happening is suppose to make sense. Then again, this structure of a story taps the audiance's fear for the unknown, and creates problems that leaves weak characterization and a pointless ending. With all said and run, "When a Stranger Calls" tackles a realistic pace and conflict that does well to create its suspense, but falls short on itself when they try to summon up an idea that really didn't have a lot of ground to begin with. If you enjoy simple, however, well...let's just say you better have caller ID the next time someone calls you at night.
It was okay but not very frightening. Elements kept of the original film? Doctors name the same. Otherwise that's where the similarities end. It's more a thriller than a horror movie. It's just an ok movie.
...why are teenage girls obsessed with this movie!? You know damn well what happens in the movie from the trailer!
