Set on New Years eve of 1981, young people dealing with all the issues of relationships and trying to get to that party before midnite. Wonderful soundtrack featuring Elvis Costello, Bow Wow Wow, The Ramones, The Buzzcocks and a bunch of other great tunes from the 80's. I liked it. Great to rent or watch during the Holidays. Five Stars.
This movie really surprised me. It has a ton of good actors and good dialogue. 4 stars might be a bit of a stretch, but I enjoyed it a lot.
Just because some of the story lines and events bring back memories of some interesting times for me...
Ha ha Paul Rudd, great film awesome all around, just a fun movie about a new years eve.
- You need to find somebody that likes you the way you are.
- And who would possibly like me the way I am?
- I have no idea.
Highly recommended for a night in at the end of the year.
Girls Against Boys covering Earth Wind & Fire's 'Boogie Wonderland' and Costello's cameo are more worth watching than Courtney as an actress.
Really good '80s movie made in the '90s. Funny and so many good people in it.
Both Afflecks, Christina Ricci, Dave Chappele, Gaby Hoffman, Courtney Love, Janeane Garofalo, Jay Mohr, Paul Rudd, and Kate Hudson are all trying to get to a party thrown by MARTHA PLIMPTON ... BUT... will her surprise special guest show up?

Seeing a film like this helps you to realize that actors are empty vessels waiting to be filled with characters and dialogue.full review
A succession of pointed little moments, nicely written by Shana Larsen and acted with comic assurance and sensitivity.full review
