Rebelling against his dreary life in a small Arizona town, TV salesman Nick (The Legend of 1900's Tim Roth) abandons his girlfriend, Beth (Singles' Bridget Fonda), and strikes out onto the highway in search of... something else. Encouraged by her best friend, Carol (Fast Times at Ridgemont High's Phoebe Cates), Beth reluctantly accepts the romantic attentions of a local housepainter (Pulp Fiction's Eric Stoltz). But when Nick's impulsive road trip leads him back home again, the stage is set for a wildly comic chain reaction among four people whose lives have suddenly become hopelessly, hilariously intertwined!

three friends have their relationships churned up by a painter.. newtons first law of motion applied to human relationships.. its just grand and you get to see phoebe cates actually act for a change.
eric stotlz and bridget fonda steal this movie. although i adore tim roth, his storyline could've been dropped. phoebe cates was also amazing.
Tim Roth sez: "It isn't in here, it isn't out there!" Plus Phoebe Cates (from Gremlins) is all grown up now, with a gorgeous mane of hair.
this movie does fairly well what other movies do great. It wasnt a memorable experience.
ERIC stOOOLTZ. You are amazing. I need to see this movie again, its been too long. Last minute decisions.
