In the winter of 1943, thousands of American troops arrive in Yorkshire for maneuvers to the Normandy invasion. Most of them are far away from home for the first time in their lives. In this well-crafted film, we follow the paths of three Americans as they try to assuage their loneliness with love.

The attention to 1940's detail is good for this story of US army personal interacting with the locals, but the stories are somewhat dull and predictable.

It was a new look on how the British felt with Americans over-running their towns and chasing after their women. I thought the stories were compelling. WW2 movies are hit and miss; this one I enjoyed.
Another great film, my mum loved Richard Gere and would sit and watch this film over and over.
