(read more) A very slight entry inthe Mike Nichols canon, displaying a less savage side of his film making.This is a pretty standard rom-com with the only exceptional thing about it being the performances of Nicholson and Streep. Oh and a very early,pretty funny performance from Kevin Spacey. It's worth a look, but it's no "Carnal Knowledge".

The story could have been fantastic, though Nichols completely ruined the film through his choppy and sloppy direction.

Another fabulous performance by Meryl Streep in this movie based on the book by Nora Ephron. And many small but wonderful turns by some of Hollywood's biggest stars of the future!
