Now as they settle into their early middle age, their friendship is increasingly challenged by the ever-growing disparity in their individual degrees of financial comfort. It is a poignant snapshot of the way we live today, where the safe divisions that class and money have created are eroding under the unstoppable force of everyday life. This painfully hilarious examination of modern life manages to be both brutally honest and ultimately uplifting.

kinda of a boring movie a times,it could have been written better. but i'm glad that she finally found the right guy for her. and it was really disguisting of her friend to stop washing her hair i mean that's wierd.
Imalo je potencijala...ali mogli su napraviti bolji kraj. Iako je preslatko kako su se na kraju nasli Olivia i tip kojemu je cistila kucu.
Again, a girlie film, but with clever dialogue, and some great acting. It kind of reminded me of the less neurotic work of Woody Allen.

A little short, I would have liked to see more just because it was so good. A good lesser-known Jennifer Aniston movie. If you want to see her in a non-bigtime Hollywood movie, this is a good one to try. She's not what you would normally think of her as. Also the director's commentary tells you this was filmed right when she broke up with Brad Pitt, so maybe she's not "acting" for some of it.
very independent - mostly character driven - but fun to watch great actresses work
I really enjoyed this film. It nicely tells the story of a single woman, who friends are all married. Although they seem happy, all have problems behind closed doors- nice sentiments
Charmingly unpretentious movie that creates real-life characters which, on the downside, live uninteresting storylines. Has its moments, but they are few and far between.
I expected a relatively slow movie about marriage and relationships... and that's basically what this is. The acting is superb, but, at the end of the day, the movie doesn't really go anywhere, solve anything, or shed any light on Life, the Universe and Everything. Quirks, mannerisms, and oddities are thrown in randomly, but for what purpose? One feels this really should have been better.
Critic Reviews
Fails to feature protagonists who boast more than a figurative purpose.full review
Holofcener builds scenes around motifs that resonate marvelously.full review
Sharply observed and cleverly written, in the end, the film is also a bit superficial, like its characters' lives.full review
It's so effortless and pleasant to spend time with the characters (and the actresses) in Friends With Money that it seems churlish to notice that the movie adds up to nothing much.full review
In hanging out with Franny, Christine, Jane and Olivia, you get not only a nuanced portrait of women's friendship but a glorious showcase of four actresses in their prime.full review
These are people not so different from those you know or perhaps even are, ever so slightly inflated, all the better to gently puncture.full review
The movie lacks warmth and edge. It seems to be more of an idea than a story.full review
I do not doubt that vapid people like these exist; that does not mean they are worth watching.full review
For a movie rich in hilarity, heartbreak and a sense of life in all its vibrant, messy sprawl, watch Friends With Money. It touches a nerve.full review
