One of my favourite Bette Midler comedies in its day, but I think the 80's styles, score and soundtrack would make me feel otherwise now.

many a time have i been told never to admit i love this film, and that just makes it better. what can i say, its release was of synchronous and primary importance to a certain 11 year old.

Bette and Shelley work well together. Shelley playing Hamlet? Not so sure. Shelley and Bette going to a whorehouse in cowboy drag? Sign me up.

Especially wonderful are the scenes where they spoof Cagney and Lacey and the scene where they discover (and have to tell the police) that the man they both dated wasn't the man in the morgue -- and they knew it because of the size of the corpse's penis.

This is golden 80's stuff and is a must see!

The writing is filled with sharp banter that is lifted off the screen due to the great comic timing and slapstick prowess of Midler and Long.

Hadn't seen this for years until recently. Still pretty funny too. Worth watching for Bette's walk alone.

How funny is this movie!!! Easy viewing and jokes all round. When they are at the airport is my favourite scene, where Shelly long is spinning that yarn!
