Basic is your basic terrible thriller movie, with a slew of bad characters, crummy dialogue, and a clumsy plot twist that made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

(read more) This film is one of those that, after you see it, you wonder what just happened, but not in a good way at all. This is also one of those movies that just keeps trying to throw in plot twist after plot twist and really all it does is convolute the film even more than it already is. To add to the terrible plot, the acting is equally as awful. The only redeeming quality was the performance of Giovanni Ribisi, who had a small role but made the best out of it. Also, is it just me or does Samuel L. Jackson play the exact same person in every movie he's in? Basically, he just plays a jerk in every role he plays. I am NOT a fan of Jackson, and this movie will just make you like him even less, so just save yourself the trouble and just don't watch it.

It requires more then violent-tendencies to appreciate this movie. There is a lot more depth and twists to it then it suggests.

The critics are in sane they are just mad cause half way through the movie they didnt know what was going on and when it ended they still didnt know what was going.

Flashbacks I might add that weren't even relevant to the film because most of them you find out are a lie. I see no real point in watching this film unless you are extremely bored one day. You don't know what the heck is going on until the last ten minutes of the movie, and that is when I clicked it off and said...dang that was dumb.

There is a fantastic twist in this movie but the moments following the twist do not support the momentum building throughout and leaves the viewer disappointed. Travolta was good but Jackson just did not create a character as despicable as the reputation presented throughout the movie.
