Tom Wilkinson gives the performance of a lifetime and is brilliant, Spacek shines with a heavy role.

Unfortunately, the script plods and so does the pacing. Sadly, another entry in the "Afterschool special" style of filmmaking.

Let's just say that some of the content here hits close to home for me, and it is presented very accurately from my experiences. Todd Field is an excellent director. I prefer this film to Little Children, but Little Children is also an excellent piece.
