The problem with making a movie about a loser is that sometimes he's such a loser that you want to stop watching the movie.

Alec Baldwin was the best part of this movie. Everything else was very luke-warm, just like the Cooler himself.

Awesome flick! Macy was sad sack great, Baldwin was a cool menace, and I don't know why Maria Bello isn't in everything...outstanding.

Interesting little Vegas drama, it's a mostly great film but could've maybe used one last rewrite. It's a bit uneven and switches between comedy and pretty dark drama but overall it's smart and entertaining

Besides that, as said, the acting is fantastic, and while the ending leaves more to be desired, if you like casino movies and you like the character William H. Macy has mastered playing, you might wanna check this out.

(read more) An excellent Vegas love story buoyed by exceptional performances by all and flawless direction from Wayne Kramer, the director of a personal favorite of mine, Running Scared. When has William H. Macy not played a sad-sack loser? In this, he probably plays his best sad sack (I'm sorry, nothing top Boogie Nights). Baldwin is amazing as well. In an argument, the person that yells the loudest usual wins, and that is the case with Alec. He was quoted as saying he completely stole his character from Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast. Whatever works; he got an Oscar nod for it. The premise doesn't appear hokey due to the way they stage the film. It feels film-noir at points, at others it's comedic, and sometimes its brutal and menacing. It was almost rated NC-17 due to a sex scene where pubes were visible. And don't forget seeing Macy's ass. Also, reminded me a lot of Hard Eight. Overall, one of the best gambling/love in Vegas I've ever seen.

This is a great little movie that was a little under most people's radar. All of the acting is fantastic. My only complaint would be seeing William H. Macy's butt.

This is a great film, I enjoyed it a lot.
This has a great story, a great cast, good performance and small special scenes and lines.
Needless to say, you got to see this film, it has romance, crime, power, money the whole nine yards.
