Definitely nothing spectacular but I actually enjoyed it. The whole hair metal thing is a guitly pleasure to watch and some of the "Steel Dragon" songs are pretty catchy. I hadn't seen it in many years but it held up well. I like the tunes.

Utterly predictable.

An irresistible movie about a guy who goes on a journey, the kind an audience can't wait to take with him.

By the end of the film I conceded, yes, there are good performances and the period is well captured, but the movie didn't convince me of the feel and the flavor of its experiences.

The movie is all formula. But then, so is Jack Daniel's.

Has enough wit and insight to make it worth watching.
