Matthew Lillard and Michael Goorijian both put on excellent and believable roles as two punk anarchists living in one of the most conservative cities in America in 1985

The film itself can be a bit slow, but it picks itself up pretty easy, and combines comedy and drama very well.

Plus the direction is one thing that should be pointed out

either way, this altogether is excellent, and has a great punk soundtrack. The one thing about the film is that it's a lot like Sid & Nancy (just not as depressing) where by the end of the film, your like wow those people had really pathetic lives :P

I'm sure it would've helped if I were a punk, a teenager, or some combination thereof. That said, it had to be pretty decent to garner 3½ stars from me.

The film shows the exploits of two punks living in Salt Lake City in the mid 80s. While the film gives us a portriat of these people, it is critical of them, never glorifying nor condescending. Director Merendino has created an involving film that starts out extremely funny and entertaining, but moves beyond that gving us fully formed characters and avoids many pitfalls that plague other coming-of-age films.

I really enjoyed this one. Since I am loosely affiliated with some of the people it is based on, I may be biased.

A good watch every now and again. Can be a little light but ultimately it's amusing even if it loses a little bit of steam near the end. Some great laugh-out-loud moments, it is a good nod to the punk scene with a good soundtrack to go with it.

One of the best movies of the late 90's. Certainly one of the best comedies.
