Quirky movie that takes a bit of a jolting, serious turn. Great performances from all involved.

I loved the opening scene of the movie and thought it would set the tone for an entertaining flick, but it fell way short.
Buscemi and Birch did a good job but Zwigoff failed to bring out the best from the others.
Overall, an average one time watch.

Quite enjoyable, with a good interesting story and great performances. Thora Birch is great, Scarlett Johansson incredible (and sexy), and Steve Buscemi naturally excels. Some great humour and dialogue - quirky but thoughtful.

Great film for all misfits to enjoy. Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson are excellent in their roles, as is Steve Buscemi who plays the ultimate cool geek. Really funny, enjoyable film.
charming and witty satire of teen angst in suburban america. it's not dostoyevsky and it doesn't need to be - not with thora birch AND steve buscemi! :)

Its not from the same school as the "Inbetweeners" but the characters have a real sense of reality and presence to them. Indeed more of a dark dark cousin of "Juno"
Not sure about the Comic inspirations, seems more of a abstract idea rather than a direct cohesive one.
Its good, perfectly casted and buscemi is as always brilliant. its emotive, oddball amusing, and definitely one to watch however old you are.
