Excellent adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel, with Jude Law on top form as the obnoxious millionaire playboy. Matt Damon also offers a solid performance as the sexually-ambiguous sociopath. Anthony Minghella directs the period well.
The Average Mr Ripley. Reminded me a bit of Poirot with all the aristocratic types, but with a load of film stars instead of David Suchet and co
for all its promise and pretty images its a rather flat and forgettable film. to me, it just did not go far enough, i wanted more. oh well

There's lots of layers to this wonderful story. The performances are amazing and everyone's likeable.
