Genial! Super film! Bien ecrit, mis en scene et joue. Original, raffraichissant et drole!
Drab, boring, uninteresting. Robert Downey Jr was the only interesting character while the others and the plot were tiring.

A really mature story with several clever anecdotes that make you smile. GREAT characters in this one. It's rare that you connect with every characters emotions, despite the fact that they are all at very different points in their lives. This has that humor that I like to call "adult funny" or "mature funny", and perhaps this is why I liked it a lot better this time around. An excellent mood setter. I'll watch it again in 10 years and let you know what I think of it then.

The story saunters with the dryness and depth of a piece of literature from the page, which of course beautifully suits the context of the characters' world. Douglas does something very different here, and very well. Tobey Maguire was also strong as the peculiar and innocent James Leer. His character arc was a joy to behold as he tries both booze and grass in the same twenty-four hours. There's also a flaming gay Robert Downy, Jr. and a smoking hot and super easy Katie Holmes in case you're not taken away by the leads. It's a clever, dark, and daftly unique piece of cinema waiting quietly on the shelf to be discovered. And I'll tell ya, the Bob Dylan doesn't hurt.

Why this movie, despite it's weaknesses, was not nominated for a decent amount of Oscars is a mystery to me.

It's unclassifiable and virtually indescribable, yet all the stylistic tools it uses seem to come directly from any one of the genres it's comprised of; it doesn't do enough to create its own unique style, and therefore fails to focus and become a unique non-genre piece. In other words, it feels too often like a mainstream Hollywood affair, when it's anything but.
Wonder Boys is adapted from a very early work by Michael Chabon, to my taste one of the finest American novelists of the last twenty years, and his lack of experience is felt in the script as it is in the novel. It's filled with lots of great ideas, but it lacks in that ever-important focus - and so remains unsatisfying. It's an interesting movie that's worth checking out, especially for those interested in writing and authors, but it's not likely to become an all-time favorite.

It just goes to show you that indie films are the best now a days. The film has fantastic actors who carry the movie with some very funny and very moving moments. Great directing by Curtis Hanson, definitley his best next to L.A. Confidential. really, Pick it up as soon as you can.
Outstanding. Michael Chabon is a very gifted writer, and they did a good job of bringing his style and tone to the film.
A film which makes you look at your own life a little differently once the credits roll. Sometimes you've got to lose everything, to get anywhere in life. Brilliant, Brilliant.
Bright and sunny. Comedic yet not outlandish which means more to me than all the Adam Sandler movies put together.
