Meanwhile Valmont has a conquest of his own in mind, Madame de Tourvel, a beautiful, married, and God fearing woman. The Marquise doesn't think that Valmont can do it, she tells him that if he can provide written proof of a sexual encounter with Madame de Tourvel, that she will offer him a reward, one last night with her. But Valmont will find himself falling in love with Mrs. de Tourvel, and facing the deadly jealousy of the Marquise de Merteuil.

Glenn Close is the epitomy of evil here and she makes Sarah Michelle Gellar look like an amateur. And I've always been a fan of John Malkovich, but this is probably my favorite role of his. He plays one heartless bastard who manipulates the sexual desires of Michelle Pfeiffer and Uma Thurman (playing a fifteen year old girl) with a cold precision. I loved every moment of this film.

Glenn Close, John Malkovich and Michelle Pfeiffer make this a watchable and enjoyable costume drama. Keanu Reeves is miscast, but that won't be a surprise to anyone.
A remarkable film on so many levels. If you haven't seen it, highly recommended.

The acting is very good, specially Glenn Close and John Malkovich... both acting performances were absolutely superb. The story is known to anyone who had seen Cruel Intentions, with some clear diferences. The story and of course the script is very well told, it's a seductive and very sexy film, in which Uma Thurman appears naked (and that was amazing). I felt that the film had some dark humor, and it was perfectly added to it. It's a fast film, very quick scenes and it's imposible get bored. The final 30 minutes are exciting and excellent, you don't even realise that the time is passing, the minutes just fly. Despite its theatricality and Keanu Reeves (who was the weakest acting performance by far), who had the fortune to work with such a great bunch of actors and actresses; I have to say that I really enjoyed this film, didn't love it, but It's very good actually.
