A lot of people say this could've been much better, but I feel that this movie was a great adaptation, with of course some room for improvements. Thomas Jane is rather good as the Punisher, and the action sequences are pretty thrilling and entertaining packed with violence. Worth a look.
I actually likes this better than the second one, which I saw first.
A lot better storyline and some really cool stunts and action scenes.
Overall a pretty good movie.
Great action flick. Awesome story line true to the comic. Anyone who is a fan of the Marvel comic or of just action shooters and fight scenes in general will enjoy it greatly.
While flawed, the film brilliantly captures the brooding and morbid tone of its protagonist.
Thomas Jane was good, but Ray Stevenson was the best. This movie didn't even come close to capturing the essence of The Punisher.
DOnt get me wrong, Travolta is great as a bad guy, but the movie just doesnt have enough action to be the punisher. I usually dont feel that action to be the focal point of films, but c'mon, this is THE PUNISHER!
Some of the acting was way over the top, but the film was a passable Marvel production.
Although the film as a whole gets three stars, I give the fight with the Russina five stars. Sheer brilliance!

Gets us lost early in the first half-hour and never succeeds in completely luring us in.full review
The Punisher is so grim and cheerless, you wonder if even its hero gets any satisfaction from his accomplishments.full review
A sickeningly manipulative, by-the-numbers revenge movie.full review
Its lack of subtlety is clearly a point of pride, and Mr. Hensleigh's flat-footed, hard-punching style has a blunt ferocity that makes Kill Bill look like In the Bedroom.full review
In this by-the-numbers payback melodrama, even the explosions seem half-hearted.full review
The film's attempts at noir nastiness are sabotaged by Jane's goofy furrowed-brow performance and solemn voice-over narration.full review
