Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)
Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Eliza Dushku
The comic 'Bluntman and Chronic' is based on real-life stoners Jay and Silent Bob, so when they get no profit from a big-screen adaptation they set out to wreck the movie.

Kevin Smith is the bane of any serious film critic's desire to see good comedy.

Jay spews some of the most hilariously vulgar dialog in film and Bob's facial expressions are the perfect reaction to his "heterosexual life partner's" raunchy rants. Basically it's Pee Wee's Big Adventure for adults and stoners. Some hysterical cameos add to the fun.
Gross out humor fell flat for me. However the cameos and eliza dushku in that leather outfit make up for that
Taking a trip backwards through some of the older material. The orangutan was kickass.
Great movie. When Silent Bob finally talks was most likely the best moment of the movie. But it is definitely not Kevin Smith's best.
This movie is pure fan service for fans of Smiths previous films. I laughed alot, but mostly at inside jokes and references...so I cannot give this a high rating...by rights it is not a good film

I admit to enjoying -- in a drunken, half-asleep kind of way -- parts of this ramshackle road movie with its running Miramax guest stars and its endless homo jokes.full review
Not clever enough for Smith fans, not gross enough to compete on the Farrelly brothers' ground, the movie feels like a kind of self-congratulatory fake.full review
Kevin Smith's movies are either made specifically for you, or specifically not made for you. If you read this review without a smile or a nod of recognition, I would recommend Rush Hour 2, which is for everybody or nobody, you tell me.full review
The movie dribbles and drags in patches, which is supposed to be OK since it's stoner humor, but Smith has it in him to do much better.full review
Budgeted at $20 million, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back contains many remarkable things for a Smith movie.full review
