When a volleyball can co star a 2 hour film and not make you wanna kick it, it means it has something going on for it. ;D Even with no characters and the simplest of stories, it managed to be a wonderful movie: well done, acted and appealing.
Wilson is by far one of the greatest actors/character of All Time! Wilson gets 5 stars.
tom hanks was too good...........a very good story......and a great movie.......!!!!......had to do the right thing at the end.......!!!.........live your life and keep breathing........never know.......what is actually comming towards you.......!!!!
An interesting film. You'd think you'd be bored to tears watching Tom Hanks alone on an island talking to an undelivered volleyball, but they make it work.

Brilliant!!!
One of Tom Hanks' most memorable performances. Easily places up with Forest Gump, among others. Wilson!
Critic Reviews
Hanks conducts a master class in acting by showing a man losing his sense of himself in fractional gradations.full review
While Cast Away works as a simple saga of survival, the film plays on deeper levels too.
Zemeckis is a capable director, so despite the misguided concept, the movie is anything but inept.full review
Cast Away is a sad movie of the sort that Hollywood almost never makes: not three-hankie sad, not 'go have yourself a good cry' sad, but the kind of thing that, if you let it in deep enough, can send a shudder to your very soul.full review
Tom Hanks does a superb job of carrying Cast Away all by himself for about two-thirds of its running time, but isn't much helped by additional characters in the opening and closing sequences.full review
