Excuse me, but if this is a true story, WHO is telling the story if everyone died??? Don't you think that's a bit too much fictional story telling there. I mean, when the guys were on the boat, who knew that Sully and Murphy had a fight? Who knew that everyone wanted to risk going home to save all the fish? Who knew that they tried to turn back?? Doesn't make sense.
Very well acted and a pure example of what some movie should be like: Great story line, that is consistent and Great effects, that doesn't try to show it off.
Starts a bit slow, but picks up quick enough. It's not a perfect movie, but still a very good one. However, I can't really give it the 4 stars I want to give it because it's just too damn sad. However, I can't really give it the 4 stars I want to give it because it's just too damn sad. I mean, I've seen and loved some extremely sad movies, such as The Road, Schindler's List, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. But for some reason I found this movie nearly unbearably tragic and almost too heartbreaking to endure more than once. Kudos to George Clooney on a terrific and genuinely heartbreaking performance, but the movie just wrecks me.
I can honestly say the book was better than the movie but Clooney and the others do a good Job.
Definitely has some incredible special effects, but obvious cliches like two brothers fighting (Reilly and Fichtner), a love story (between Wahlberg and Lane), and a fearless and gruff commander (Clooney) weigh this movie down to a large degree. Certainly watchable, mainly due to its slam-bang ending, but also certainly skip-able, basically because predictability surfaces on more than one occasion. Peterson has done far better.
This is from the director of Air Force One and Das Boot so one would expect better but it's a sad story and that's all. no point and nothing to learn.
One of the worst pieces i've trash i've ever seen at the Cinema, every minute is dull.
