The Last Starfighter (1984, D.A.R.Y.L. (1985), exploradores (1985), el vuelo del navegante (1986) y esta ultima que considero la peor de todas. La premisa es simple: niños pilotando naves espaciales, el siguiente paso logico en la ciencia ficcion despues de la gran pelicula de spielberg.

If you remember 1986, you'll no doubt recall the horrible tragedy of the Challenger explosion in which 7 astronauts died, including a schoolteacher. Space Camp plays to these fears a bit as the kids end up in orbit unsupervised and have to land the plane back onto earth. As with so many aspects of life, fear is balanced by the equally strong driving force of survival. To make it through, the kids must overcome the doubting grown-ups, teen squabbling, lack of oxygen and even hormones. Dang, that Kelly Preston is H.O.T...too hot to end up in a sham marriage to John "sausage king of LA" Travolta.
This, The Last Starfighter and Flight of the Navigator were all obviously intended to raise a new generation of astronaut wannabes. Too bad all those kids also watched the Challenger take off.
Saw this a loooong time ago. I bet my big brothers watched it all the time. I only remember bits and pieces of it, but I remember liking it :)

It's fun--if you can get past NASA letting kids play in a real space shuttle days before they are to actually launch it, then the rest is easy. And, of course, Jinx the robot was adorable.
NASA obviously spends far too much money on training their astronauts. I mean, the space shuttle is apparently so easy to fly that a bunch of kids can do it.

They should spend their money instead on beefing up their system security, so that robots designed for carrying tools can't hack into the system and change an entire mission profile without anybody checking or even noticing.
I love this movie, another one from my childhood. Leaf Phoenix was such a doll.
