Cheesy and predictable, but still sweet. Not to mention it features the who's who in teen entertainment in the late 1990s!
best high school movie (i don't really like the genre, btw) - and drew barrymore is totally rufus!
This movie is so cute. I really enjoyed watching this movie. Drew Barrymore is the only woman I know that one minute play an evil, two-timing best friend (Poison Ivy) and then play a sweet, shy girl the next.

Her role in this movie was very good. She really makes you feel sorry for the new/geeky girl and fall in love with her character. The teacher she falls for (Michael Vartan) is such a good romantic hero for her. This is a cute couple date movie.
Starts well with Drew's awkward character and a few good moments. Flails toward the end.
Nobody can play the awkward teen/woman like Drew Barrymore. This flick is just a lot of silly fun.
Critic Reviews
Drew Barrymore has been well cast as someone who doesn't act her age.full review
Relatively inoffensive and relentlessly mediocre.full review
The movie's screenplay is contrived and not blindingly original, but Barrymore illuminates it with sunniness, and creates a lovable character.full review
The movie's tiresome joke is that, even the second time around, Josie still can't get it right.full review
Drew Barrymore movies have an advantage that others don't -- they have Drew Barrymore in them. But that doesn't take away from the fact that she makes more lousy pictures than any other good actress.full review
