Better Eastwood choices from around the same time as this film (1989) include Tightrope, The Dead Pool, and White Hunter, Black Heart. Though there is some novelty in Eastwood doing a purely comedic role, this movie is so devoid of energy that it's hardly worth the effort.
I'm one of the few people who actually like this film. You gotta love Eastwood.
It's unfortunate this movie was so bad. I like Bernadette Peters, or at least I did in the Jerk. Eastwood was hit and miss, I guess.

Unremarkable Clint Eastwood vehicle (no pun intended) with a terribly dated sound track. But it's Clint, so its still pretty watchable for all that, if you like his sort of thing.
Not one of Eastwood's better films. His performance is fine but he is stuck in an absurd plot and surrounded by a lot of overacting!

La direccion es nefasta, como cualquiera del inoperante Buddy Van Horn (suena a director de porno). Sin embargo, inexplicablemente se deja ver, en parte gracias al trabajo de una actriz muy simpatica y un Eastwood intentando nuevos registros interpretativos. Pasable.
