Michael Richards in full Kramer mode as an actor who subs for his passed out friend in court and ends up playing lawyer for the full trial. I would have enjoyed more scenes of Richards tripping over garbage cans.
Actor substitutes for his attorney pal on an important case when he is unable to report to court from his bachelor party hangover. Predictable but likable. Richards not able to put much distance from his Kramer character here.

Trial and Error is a medicore comedy film, Michael Richards and Jeff Daniels add in the fun. Jeff Daniels playing Charles "Charlie" Tuttle a lawyer who's been assigned to defend his fiance's relative Benny Gibbs. But his actor friend Richard Rietti has decided to give him a bachelor party things turn worse after that Charlie gets drunk, gets into a bar fight and the next day he is in no shape to go to court so what happens after that? Richard decides to pose as Charlie things go from worse to even worser The Court thinks Richard is charlie and now Charlie has to pose as Richard. Now Richard has to give the biggest performance of his career in order to get out of court. The acting was medicore but it's worth watching if your bored on a saturday or sunday afternoon.

I came across this randomly and was glad I did! Very entertaining movie :)
I watched it just for the sake of Michael Richards, probably i was under the "Kramer spell". Hmm, I probably still am.
I'll be completely honest; I don't remember this movie well, but I do recall a sub-par script, a hokey plot, lame comedy and even lamer acting, particularly from Michael Richards. Fished out of a Walmart bargain bin recently. It's quite the turkey. If you can stand Michael Richards not being able to act and a stupid plot, there is a couple of laughs, but don't go out of your way to see it, that's for sure.
I think there were a number of things that made this movie only average. For one, it's incredibly formulaic. After seeing Jeff Daniels in Dumb & Dumber, and not really seeing him in that many serious roles since (not that this one is serious), it's rather difficult to take him seriously. His best moments are when he loses his "tight-assedness" and plays a bit of a goof.
Michael Richards is basically Kramer, which is entertaining, but nothing new.
It's decent and I wouldn't avoid it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again.

The somewhat tolerable post-Seinfeld big screen return of Kramer. Hardy har har.
