This is such a sad movie, I cry every time I see it, though i don't like how it stole the flowers for algernon concept. Elisabeth Shue was really outstanding in it though.

Just awful creative decisions at every turn, from screenplay on down the line. It is astonishing that no one thought to stop Elizabeth Shue from turning in one of the most embarrassing performances in the history of moving pictures. This gets a half star for two reasons: one, I love the name Molly and two, Facebook won't let me give it zero stars.
I'm kinda glad I missed it nine years ago; it was a feminized hybrid of Rain Man and Charly (Flowers for Algernon).
Great movie; reminds me of the book Flowers for Algernon. (I liked the book better, though.)
An embarrassment to all involved, and insulting to autistic people to boot
Elizabeth Shue's best performance. The dynamics were handled really well in the script and well acted all round. Very sad at times though.
I enjoyed this film, it was very heart-warming, even if it wasn't totally realistic.
This movie makes me cry every time I see it. They really made you feel for all the characters, which is nice.
this was a good movie. people give it a hard time 'cause it's not "accurate," but if every movie out there had to be completely realistic we'd lose many of our favorite movies, lol. I enjoyed this movie, it made me smile! I love the innocence of Elis... I enjoyed this movie, it made me smile! I love the innocence of Elisabeth Shue's character, Molly. It was interesting to watch her transformation, and to see the innocence of Molly even after she was "changed," to see her admiration for truth and honesty and pure human emotion - to see her plain innocence, she'd been untainted by the world. It was a good movie!
