It was tolerable when I was young. I've seen parts recently, It's really, REALLY, horrible
i think its funny and full of laughter to me because the dog always eats the familys food and plays withe theire stuff
Strictly a family movie in every which way. Aside from using every cliche in the book, the only thing one can learn from it is that St. Bernards are a very bad dog to have in the house.

The funny thing about this film is the actors who have smaller roles went on to more success aka David Duchovny and Patricia Heaton. The film obviously doesn't appeal anymore but I can see why it's a firm family favorite.
Charles Grodin is vastly underrated for his comedy. I enjoyed this when I was a kid.
