B movie horror at its finest, it combines a whole bunch of special effects that seemed to be going spare, a star-studded cast and an incomprehensible plot, creating a fantasmagorical satanic thriller. Shatner is clearly warming up for The Wrath of Khan by this stage and Ernest Borgnine looks extremely disturbing as a goat. Excellent fun.
Terrifying and hilarious camp excellence from back when they knew how to make these kinda movies.
Superb turn from Oscar-winner Borgnine as a goat-faced Satan.

Superb turn from Oscar-winner Borgnine as a goat-faced Satan.
Shatner and Tom Skerrit are surprisingly effective here too, but will raise a few unintentional (?) laughs from a more cynical audience.
The central plot is a pretty hokey (and to be honest, makes no sense) and, true, the overall structure of the movie is kinda disjointed but it had no real impact on my enjoyment of the film. In fact, these flaws added to my enjoyment.
There are some really spooky and awesome High Plains Drifter meets The Crucible meets The Exorcist style set-pieces that i also lapped up, so if you enjoy that kinda thing then cheggid owt yo.
Anton LaVey is real, so this movie is real. Too bad it's kind of boring. I like no eyed people and manimal devils. The church showdown between faiths was pretty good.

The ending is just fantastic, though! Made me want fondue.
Imagine this. Ernest Borgnine, William Shatner, Tom Skerritt, Eddie Albert and John Travolta are altogether in a film about Satanists.

Yeah, it's a real film. And it is called the Devil's Rain.
I have never passed a kidney stone, been disemboweled, or sawed off my leg without anesthesia, but the Devil's Rain made me imagine that all of them were a more pleasant experience than finishing the movie. You have not experienced bad acting until you have seen this. And as for the script, well, let's just say that pornos have this one beaten.
Apparently this film had a director as well. If he has any self respect, he will commit hara-kiri with a dull spoon. That, by the way, is no doubt mor fun than watching this. Am I being too harsh here? I dare you to find out!
I just love this film. Shot way better than it has any right to be and the first encounter with Shatner and Borgnine is worth the price of admission alone. VF.

Not much mystery or suspence in this film , I forced myself to watch the whole thing . You can pass on this one .
Awesome satanic flick featuring a stellar cast and set in a desert envornment that evokes a kind of quiet apocalypse. For fans of horror or Satanic films, a must see...

Genuinely creepy, the cast is fantastic with Tom Skerritt as Shats brother and the are all in good form. Pretty intense stuff.
