Tom Hanks is lovely, adorable, and most of all extremely talented in this funny, cordial movie.
I don't know why I wasted my time. It would have been one thing had Hanks actually played a foreigner and not a simpleton.

Viktor Navorski, played by him, is supposed to be an awkward, clumsy East-European and that he truly is, at least in Tom Hanks' hands. The movie is pretty simple, but it has some really good comedy scenes, an interesting main character, good plot and a surprise twist at the end, at least in the romance department. All in all a likable movie, although it's main "villain" is kind of boring, which can be said about other characters as well excluding Navorski.
Ihanan viihdyttävä elokuva. Jotenkin tämä oli niinkuin lähellä sydäntä. Pitäsköhän munkin muuttaa terminaali 2:een. Ois lyhyt duunimatka..
For the life of me, I don't get this film. Or, actually, I don't get why Spielberg chose to direct it. Maybe a chance to work with his buddy Tom Hanks was just too much to resist.

For the movie, it's sugar-coated drama-comedy floating somewhere in mid-air. It's like sugar candy, you don't know where to begin. Instead of doing this in 2004, Spielberg should have done the fourth Indiana Jones, based on Frank Darabont's script. Oh well.
Has potential—and one can see the hand of Andrew Niccol here—but modified too much to have any character left in its script. In fact, one might even call it dull. I really like this movie. Quantum leap forward in security camera-based humor.

Hanks' overdone slapstick antics and awful accent ... keep this featherweight farce from taking flight.full review
The Terminal is quintessential Spielberg: perfectly cast, technically breathtaking, sentimental to the point of being one sugar cube away from gooey and extremely pleasurable to watch.full review
I'm not in love with The Terminal, but I liked every minute in it.full review
If moviegoers suspend their disbelief -- easy enough thanks to the diverse and talented cast, as well as Spielberg's capable direction -- they're bound to enjoy this cinematic fantasy.full review
Rarely have I been so acutely aware of a movie's softness and sentimentality, and rarely have I minded less.full review
