It opens with the ritual of the divorced: mothers handing off kids to dads in neutral territory, the local McDonald's. Then the three buddies at the center of this film (Paul Reiser, Randy Quaid, and Matthew Modine) go their separate ways. Reiser is looking for a way to win his ex-wife back (and comes across as a hangdog drip); Modine is the group's womanizer who chases a variety of females, while seemingly ignoring his kid. Quaid has the film's only comedically fruitful role as the group's most cynical member who goes on the world's worst blind date with the hilariously off-the-wall Janeane Garofalo. Harmless, occasionally funny, but unremarkable. --Marshall Fine

One of thee underrated movies of the '90s! What ever happened to Paul Reiser?
Eh. Kinda cute, but not worth the three days it took me to get through it.
I've allways loved this move. Was nice to see it again today :)
For the record its more a drama than a comedy... still funny too :P
It's a little odd how many future Buffy actors are in this film. Not a bad film.

Unfortunately the last 15 minutes (from the time Quaid confronts Reiner) see it become like an inane sitcom as it has a silly and contrived conclusion that wraps things up far too easily.
As for the cast, Garofalo is the standout in her hilarious supporting performance and Quaid is pretty good as well. On the downside, Modine is totally unconvincing as a suburban playboy.
It's so absurd at times, but I think Randy Quaid, Janeane Garofalo and Rob Reiner are irresistible in this movie. They make an otherwise hokey story entertaining.
I think I saw this... if I can't remember it must not have been that good.
