Yeah it passes time. I wouldn't say it was special but if you like this sort of thing...
Thrilling, at times shocking, at it's end, haunting, K-19: The Widowmaker tells the story of a Soviet submarine crew to whom falls the duty of stalling disaster when the sub's nuclear reactor malfunctions.
I'm always a fan of military films that are from the other side's point of view.

The mood of the crew is reflected in actor's good performances. My only objection would be shooting this movie in English. It should have been in Russian but I also understand that Hollywood was not ready to watch a foreign language movie (hell they are still not ready).

I have not seen this movie since it was at the cinemas. This movie is very deep and powerful.
Sad it was a true story
Decent. Worth a watch just to see Ford try to handle a Russian accent. Heck, he does better than Sean Connery in The Hunt for Red October.
This was a litte slow going, but it still had some good performances by Liam Neeson and Harrison Ford. It was good to see a different side to a political/war drama, even though the horrible events were based on fact. Naval enthusiasts would like this... Critic Reviews
It's simply incapable of overcoming its leading man's leaden performance.full review
Within the clutter of accents and heavenly choirs -- Klaus Badelt's score is at times a bit much -- lurks a good story. And, in midsummer, that's often all we can ask for.full review
Bigelow is known for making good, visceral movies, but here she adopts a kind of dignified watchfulness, and that feels right for the material.full review
A salute is in order for Bigelow, a director who knows how to navigate macho terrain without losing her human compass.full review
The movie, from director Kathryn Bigelow, can't keep track of what course it wants to steer.full review
[Bigelow] is an expert technician who never steps wrong and is skilled at exploiting the personal qualities of Ford and Neeson to add another level of uncertainty.full review
A tense, swift drama of mechanical catastrophe and dueling egos.full review
