Really nice incorporation of human body parts with humour. :D
"As the immortal James Brown said, 'Get Down!'"
I agree with the live action being lame. It was probably better on paper when they were writing this but the cartoon stuff...wow. It was probably better on paper when they were writing this but the cartoon stuff...wow. Sure it wasn't all anatomically correct, but the idea of the body as a city is genius, because that's basically what the body is. Oh and don't forget the really funny and clever jokes. Honestly best line in the whole movie.." Did you ever blow dry your hair with a fart?" I don't care who you are but that there is funny. Despite all the cleverness, I did not care for the live action, it was crappy. Still, great one for the kids and the science geeks.
They did a good job combining live-action and cartoon, but it wasn't really that great.
If anyone is interested in finding out what Bill Murrays' insides look like, then your in for a treat; otherwise, nothing special here.
Only saw it because Bill Murray was in it - just found this educational part animated film really quite dull and boring
As kid movies go it was okay. If you were watching someone's kids or your own and they wanted a movie, Osmosis Jones is quite tolerable.

It's an interesting query posed by the Farrellys in this 2001 feature, starring Bill Murray in a role that recalls guilty pleasures like Caddyshack and Meatballs. The animation is clever, the voice work top notch (featuring Chris Rock and David Hyde Pierce) but in the end Osmosis Jones is middling, there's no real kick to it. Still, given much of the cutesy swill the Farrellys have churned our since then (Fever Pitch) I can handle this.
For some reason--probably something psychological originating in my sheltered childhood--I have a weakness for cartoon/live-action hybrid movies.
Oh yeah, and it does have Bill Murray in it, so...
Critic Reviews
As long as Osmosis Jones sticks to the action-flick innards -- from the gangster dens of the armpits to the deportee docks of the bladder -- it's an inventive series of gags (in both senses).full review
Likely to entertain kids, who seem to like jokes about anatomical plumbing. For adults, there is the exuberance of the animation and the energy of the whole movie, which is just plain clever.full review
Adults might remain immune to the process of Osmosis, but younger viewers probably will be receptive to its nervy fun.full review
Too crude for the kids and not crude enough for connoisseurs of the Something About Mary school of hair jism and balls caught in zippers, Osmosis Jones seems doomed to fall between the cracks.full review
