Nice little film from the 70's which I recommend about devil worshippers chasing some holidaymakers around after they witness a human sacrifice stars Peter Fonda.
Despite being somewhat dated, and suffering with occasional lapses in common sense and internal logic, not a bad watch.

There's just something about them and what they did for horror that I can't shake. After the Manson Murders brought reality home for a lot of people, the entertainment industry also started to sway that way. Movies got more gritty, grounded and revolutionized the way people made them forever. There was nothing like the movies made in that decade before and there never will be again. Race with the Devil is another classic with a ton of suspense, action and surprises in its run time. This one took its four main characters, made sure I fell in love with them (yes, even the dudes) before letting the shite hit the fan and not letting up. The result was me watching the screen, clutching the arm rest and hoping the four leads would make it out alright. Peter Fonda was my favorite of the lot and was pure charm the whole way through. Warren Oates was convincing and credible as the older dude. Loretta Swit was focused and likeable. Lara Parker draws you in as the most straight-forward of the group. The first half of the movie was about build-up, tension and mystery. After the group initially finds the cult, almost everybody they encounter becomes a suspect. You never really know who's up to what here and that made for a very suspenseful sit-down. The last third of the movie let it all come home with insane car chases and set pieces that didn't let up until the end. And here I thought the 80s claimed the birth of "insane car chase" movies! Jack Starrett kept the movie suspenseful the whole way. He also filled the movie with crazy angles and used slo-mo expertly. I'm sure a director or two borrowed some tricks from this movie. Alas, the movie is not perfect. The characters do several stupid movies in order to serve the plot instead of driving as far away from the area as possible. You've got satanists after you! Get going! I also guessed most of what was going to happen as soon as a scene started. Kind of took me out of the movie in parts. Lastly, although the final frames were creepy and unsettling, I didn't get much satisfaction from it. Just didn't seem like a fitting ending for me. But even with its downfalls, I still couldn't help but highly enjoy this one. It moved fast, had great characters, more suspense than 8 Twilight Zone episodes and a ton of action. In the mood for an old gem? Hunt this one down.
Entertaining mostly because it's such an oddball film. It's kind of a cross between "Rosemary's Baby" and "Dirty Mary Crazy Larry". A pair of couples travelling in a state-of-the-art RV have the misfortune of stopping for the night just across the river from a satanic cult's sacrifice ritual in Texas. Heart pounding action.
muy divertida! Peter Fonda y sus amigos salen de viaje en una casa rodante pero la joda se acaba cuando atestiguan un ritual satanico y todos los luciferianos del sur de EEUU los empiezan a perseguir!

I would have given this solid three stars if it didn't had that marvellous ending. That predictable but still so cool ending just lifted the whole movie up to a next level. Well, little bit at least. Perfect cast and some very nice old school car chases, with real motherf***ing cars(!) and without those nowadays' bland and boring videogame effects.
They don't make films like this anymore.
Warren Oates is great in anything, and Peter Fonda, while not quite on Oates' level, is still a badass and holds his own in this flick. I especially liked him blowing away Satanists with a shotgun from the top of a moving RV.
Cheesy, spooky, very 70s B-movie...I dig it for those reasons (I love the ending).
