"I wear the cheese, the cheese does not wear me." Whenever I think of this movie I always think of that line from that episode of Buffy. This movie was alright from what I can remember. I will have to watch it again to see if I would want to buy it.

Frankly, for me it s not enough. There are many great actors, such as J. Malkovic. In my opinion Di Caprio was too immature at the time, and too inebriated shortly after the sink of Titanic. I found again one of the actresses of -L auberge Espagnol-, Judith Godreche was the main character s lover in it. And, in 1998, she was Di Caprio s Lover.
Think there are many versions of this movie. Apart from some half naked scene this could be a Disney picture. It's a legend, but hey, how can one believe that D'Artagnan had a son from the Queen of France who had a twin etc. It s bullshit, very well built, but bullshit in any case. Am I being a fussy boy? May be. In any case it was amusing. Banal but amusing.
Watching Jeremy Irons and John Malcovich verbably joust was probably the highlight of the film. Gerard Depardieu also provided some strange comic relief in trying to give it some French autenticity.

Overall though, it was very predictable and dull. The monologue proclaiming Louis XIV as one of the greatest Kings of France was especially trite.
I don't care what anyone says, I think this movie is wonderful. This movie may be the reason I like Jeremy Irons as much as I do
only one word can describe this movie - awesome!!! I love Alendre Dumas books & one of them is this movie "The Man in the Iron Mask." =)
