Pretty funny movie. He doesn't really communicate with not too many animals though.
Jim Carrey does a good job with over-the-top characters, and this one seems to carry over his acting style from the "In Living Color" years. It's not much of a detective movie, but it is funny.

Overall not a great movie but the only reason why I like it at all is that my kids love it and will watch it over and over!!!
Great breakthrough performance by Jim Carey. A little dated, but his humor and body language hold up pretty well. I've just seen it too many damn times.
After "Dumb & Dumber", "Liar Liar" and "Yes Man" this is top notch Jim Carrey. I remember being a kid and becoming a Jim Carrey fan after seeing this movie for this was the movie that lauched his successful career as a comedy legend
