For nine years I have avoided this movie because it was a remake of a classic I loved... Like the remake of Willy Wonka, it wasn't as good as the original but it was still a very fine, entertaining film... should have definitely seen it sooner!
All in all, this live action version of the classic Dr. Seuss tale isn't all that bad. It does drag on a bit too long. After all, filling a short story with a cheesy back story always tends to be tedious. Still, though, Jim Carrey does a great job in... Terrible, scary movie. I had nightmares about Grinch even two weeks after. This is not good for small kids.
This movie was an insult to the memory and works of Ted Geisel. Audrey Geisel ought to be ashamed of herself for letting her husbands sweet perfect- as-it-was story be destroyed like it was! If I could give it negative stars, I would!
The lines, set design and world of the grinch is so true to one of the best childhood books ever.
Jim Carrey in this film makes me want to never get another present again in my life. In fact, this film makes me want to never smile or laugh again forever.
Christmas doesn't start till I have watched this! Between it and ELF...they are must sees and must watch while decorating for the holidays!
While Jim Carrey is the best Grinch I could ever imagine, the story was way too drawn out and overanalzed. What makes the story so bizarre in the first place is that you have no idea why the Grinch is the way he is. This movie ruined that aspect, but...
