Uneven teenage comedy begins interestingly, but loses its satiric bite, sidelines its most interesting character and leads to an all-too-predictable conclusion. The talented young cast is a definite plus.
Kinda cliche at parts, but no less touching and amusing for that. Mandy Moore and Macauley Culkin both do excellent performances, and the script is really quite original.
Brought back memories, although not of my own experience with various Christian schools, but of my endless love for Macaulay Culkin!

It takes the hypocrisies and idiosyncrasies that so often plague the Church/Christian schools/Christian organizations/Christians themselves and magnifies them in an attempt to expose the repulsiveness of it all. And it does so very well. Actually going to a Christian school, I see these sorts of things all the time...oh, no, not the "big bad" sins portrayed in the movie, but the hypocrisy and double standard that accompanies them. I myself find it sometimes easy to fall into that complacent mindset. This film should serve as a wake-up call to Christians. This is how the modern world sees Christians and this is how people react. The implications of that are at once eye opening and disturbing.
There's something so offensive to the Christian faith but so funny about this movie. It has such a messed-up view but still really funny and great to watch. I new from the trailer what to expect but then it still shocked me. It is such an awesome movie. I was cracking up the entire time. Everyone should see it but if your christian it may offend a bit because of certain parts that are too forward. But I don't mind forward so I have watched it several times and own this awesome movie.
Quirky, edgy, and truly funny, "Saved!" gets a lot of flack for being "anti-Christian" when, in fact, the film is anything but. It does take slight pokes at Christianity, but the humor comes from the heart and is never mean-spirited. The characters in the film are anything but the flat stereotypes usually in teen comedies nowadays, as they have multiple transitions in character development that are both funny and moving. It's seriously a great comedy, and I recommend it to anyone.
painfully obnoxious. there's better art to be made about hetero-sexism and other such ignorance in the christian community.

Saved! ultimately can't quite go the distance, but it's a promising debut by a filmmaker to watch.full review
This is one of the most intriguing rite-of-passage teen comedies in a long time.full review
The characters are complex, conflicted and written with a sturdy understanding of human nature.full review
Even though it pretends to be sharp and observant, it's really one of those 'Let every flower in the garden grow' movies, conspicuously lacking both guts and well-sharpened teeth.full review
An important film as well as an entertaining one.full review
Not only is Saved! subversively funny, it is unexpectedly sweet.full review
This teen satire set in a Christian high school is an admirable attempt to acknowledge the powerful influence of religion in contemporary American youth culture.full review
